Carpsus, alternatively spelled as myxy (pronounced miǎn), resembles a sea bass but has slightly rough flesh, a darker body color, gray-brown with hints of greenish-blue, and a gray-white belly.The dorsal fin spine edge is black, and there is a longitudinal black stripe in the middle of the soft part.There is a spot above the pectoral fin base.All other fins are gray-black.The body shape of the Carpsus is laterally flat and extends backward, with a gentle arc on the back and abdomen.
