Ingredients

120g ground meat

  rice glutinous rice80g

oil as needed

salt as needed

sugar as needed

egg wash as needed

starch as needed

rawgingeras needed

green onions as needed

  pepper powderas needed

Pearl Meatballs steps

1. Soak the rice for 3 hours.

2. Mix the ground meat with salt, sugar, egg wash, starch, pepper powder, ginger and green onions evenly.Note: I did this the day before making pan-fried buns.leftover fillingwith somesoy sauce; it turns out that adding soy sauce will color the rice grains, making them look less white.

3. Soak the mushrooms.mushroomsas needed

4. Chop the mushrooms finely and mix with the meat mixture.

5. Prepare some slicedcarrotfor garnish.

6. Form the meat mixture into small balls.

7. Roll the meat balls in the rice, then place them on the carrot slices.small meat ballsoncarrotslices, one by one.

8. Steam for about 10 minutes.Steamfor approximately 10 minutes.

9. While steaming, prepare some carrot pieces as decorations for the Pearl Meatballs.

Tips

1. Do not use soy sauce when mixing the meat filling; it will color the rice grains and make them look less white.

2. Do not add water to the meat mixture; using too much can make the meat too soft and affect shaping.

3. Gently coat the small meat balls in rice; this will make the rice grains stand vertically, looking more attractive.If you repeatedly form the balls with the rice, it won't have this effect. My finished product shows that experience helps.

4. Using round glutinous rice can make them stick better and look nicer.
