Steps for making Yam and Goji Berry with Rice Wine Residue

1. Clean the yam, peel it, and cut it into small balls using a ball spoon.

2. Place the yam balls in a pot and add water to cook until they are tender, about 20-30 minutes.ï¼›

3. Rinse the goji berries, soak them briefly in clean water.

4. Pour two bowls of water into a wide pot and add the goji berries, cooking for 10 minutes.Add the rice wine residue, bring to a boil, then add the yam balls and rock sugar. Wait until the rock sugar melts before turning off the heat and serving.

Tips

1. Those who can drink alcohol may use more rice wine residue than water for richer flavor.Those who cannot tolerate much alcohol should use two bowls of rice wine residue and three bowls of water instead.Some people prefer eating the rice from the rice wine residue, so adjust the ratio of alcohol to rice based on personal preference.
2. The yam can also be added directly without prior cooking, just peel it and put it in the rice wine residue pot for cooking.However, raw yam may cause skin irritation due to its sticky fluid; wear gloves when handling.
