Five Ways to Store Mushrooms Daily

Editor: Chinese Food Network Mobile site

MushroomMushrooms have strong water absorption, are not easy to store, and are prone to oxidative deterioration and mold when moisture content is high. Therefore, mushrooms must be dried before storage.Appropriate block lime or dry charcoal desiccants should be placed in the storage container to prevent re-wetting.

Mushrooms must be stored in a cool, well-ventilated area; if possible, containers holding mushrooms can be sealed and kept in refrigerators or cold storage rooms.

Infrared radiation from light will raise the temperature of the mushrooms, while ultraviolet rays will trigger photochemical reactions, accelerating their deterioration. Therefore, avoid storing mushrooms under strong light, and also avoid using transparent materials for packaging.

Oxidation is an inevitable process in mushroom spoilage; cutting off oxygen can inhibit oxidative deterioration.Mushrooms can be stored in sealed containers like iron cans or ceramic jars with food-grade bags inside.Try to minimize opening the container lid, and when sealing, remove air from the bag. Where possible, use vacuum nitrogen-filled storage bags.

Mushrooms have extremely strong adsorption properties; they must be stored separately, meaning no other items should be placed in the same container as mushrooms. Storage areas for mushrooms should not store other goods simultaneously.Do not use containers that emit odors or are already contaminated with odors to store mushrooms.
