"Orange Cake"

The orange cake process:

1.Preheat the oven to 350F/180CRemove the outer layer of the orange zest with a citrus zester, set aside. Cut three to four slices of oranges, each about 5mm thick, and reserve the rest for juicing (use this juice to make syrup by boiling it with sugar).

Boil the orange slices until they can be pierced easily with a fork.In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar, and salt. Add one

eggand mix well. Then add juice and orange zest, stirring thoroughly. Sift flour and baking powder into the bowl, gently mixing (use folding motions to avoid overmixing). Fold in nuts until combined. Pour batter into a mold, place cooked orange slices on top, bake for about 50 minutes or until golden brown on top. Insert a toothpick; it should come out clean if fully baked. After baking, let it cool in the mold for ten minutes before removing and placing on a rack to cool completely. Brush with the orange syrup and allow it to set for ten minutes before serving!Mix well, add the juice and orange peel, stir evenly. Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl, gently mix (using the cutting method to avoid overmixing). Use a spatula to mix in the nuts into the batter. Pour the batter into the mold, place the cooked orange peel on top. Bake for about 50 minutes in the oven until golden brown. Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, it is done. Allow it to cool in the mold for ten minutes, then remove and let it cool on a wire rack. Brush the surface with orange syrup, wait for ten minutes for it to set before enjoying!
