Instructions for steaming pears with honey:
1. Prepare all ingredients and tools.

2. Using a small knife, cut out a star-shaped pattern from the upper 1/4 of the pear.

3. When cutting, ensure the knife goes deep enough to reach the center of the pear. After cutting a full circle, slowly use the knife to push the pear into two pieces.

4. Use a small knife to carefully remove the pit from the larger lower piece of the pear, being careful not to break the bottom.

5. Peel off a small amount from the bottom of the pear to allow it to sit stably.

6. Place the pear in the steaming pot and slowly pour the honey into the pear, filling it to 80%, but not overflowing.

7. Place the sour dates in the honey.

8. Place the upper half of the pear (with the skin facing down) in the pot, cover and steam over medium heat for 30 minutes.

9. After 30 minutes, remove from heat. Cool to a warm temperature and serve.
